The global ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) capacity is estimated at approximately 2.78 mln tons, with Asia, North America, and Western Europe representing the largest producers. In Asia, South Korea, Japan, Taiwan and Singapore are the top manufacturers. China, Vietnam, Indonesia and India are known as the input regions, as per Market Publishers.
In mainland China, EVA manufacturing capacity is expected to show swift growth in the forthcoming years to be around 1.3 mln tons in late 2016. In 2017, China's EVA capacity is likely to be approximately 1.8 mln tons. Meantime, the global capacity is forecast to surpass a USD 4.9 mln tons mark by 2017. Currently, Yanshan Petrochemical, BASF-YPC Company Limited and Daqing Petrochemical are amid the most prominent participants in the Chinese ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer industry.
