Exxon Mobil Corp. has completed repairs on a severed line, which lies in 14.5 mtrs deep waters in early March. ExxonMobil has resumed normal supplies of ethane after completing repairs to the pipeline damaged in a December storm. Exxon is an operator of an oil and gas venture in southeastern Australia with BHP Billiton Ltd. The incident occurred on Dec. 13 when the anchor of the Hong Kong-registered container ship APL Sydney dragged across the pipeline in Port Phillip Bay.
The shutdown of the line halted ethane supplies to petrochemicals producers Qenos Pty, owned by China National Chemical Corp., and Huntsman Chemical Co. Australia Pty. Supplies are back to normal levels.
