First trading day of 2017 sees crude oil at 18 month highs

The first trading day of 2017 saw crude oil prices at 18 month highs amid hopes that an output cut deal by OPEC and other oil exporters that comes into effect Jan 1, 2017, will drain the long reigning global supply glut. Prices for Brent spiked to US$$58.3, while US llight crude oil touched US$55.2
