German hose and tubing manufacturer, polyvanced GmbH has included round belts of thermoplastic polyurethane and polyester elastomers into its extensive product range which its says have 'high durability and thus high economic efficiency'. The weldable round belts of thermoplastic material are used mainly as drive elements as well as for transport purposes. The potential key markets are in the food and luxury food industry, the packing industry as well as the textile, wood and ceramic industry and the chemical industry.
According to company release, the round belts can be quickly installed on site by means of mobile welding equipment thereby bringing down machine downtimes. In addition, it can be easily cut to the required length from the reel, which provides for economical stockkeeping. The product is said to have good resistance to oil, grease, water, food as well as a multitude of chemicals. The round belts are mainly used in the transport and materials-handling technology, for example in mechanical and apparatus engineering as well for driving of roller conveyors. The high flexibility of polyvanced round belts permits various directions of deflection as well as a low deflection diameter. The round belts are offered hardnesses (between 80 Shore A and 55 Shore D). The standard outside diameter ranges from 3 to 20 millimetres. The product is delivered either on rolls or cut to segments.
