Graham Packaging to acquire Tetra Pak plants

15-Mar-05
US based Graham Packaging is to acquire 4 Tetra Pak plants that manufacture HDPE bottles for nutritional beverages and value-added dairy beverages supplying markets in Belgium, Brazil, Turkey, and the United States. The transaction will involve the transfer of all contracts, fixed assets, inventories, and plant employees from Tetra Pak, part of Tetra Laval Group, to Graham Packaging. Financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed. With this acquisition, Graham Packaging will position itself as a leading global supplier of blow-moulded plastic packaging for the two fast-growing beverage categories in the aseptically packaged format. As all 4 of the acquired plants are co-located with existing customer production facilities, the acquisition also aims to strengthen the company's commitment to on-site manufacturing with customers.
