After two successive years of profit , Haldia Petrochemicals Ltd (HPL) is likely to report almost 50% drop in net profit in 2007-08. Net profit is expected to slide to nearly Rs 300 crore in 2007-08 from Rs 580 crore in 2006-07.
The situation is not expected to improve in 2008-09 as naphtha price show no signs of easing.
