Leading manufacturer of high performance materials, Victrex Polymer Solutions announced that its VICOTE coating has been selected by Du Wei Enterprise Co., Ltd., a professional shoe mold manufacturer, on its 2-color EVA shoe tools. Based on VICTREX PEEK polymer, VICOTE coating has been proven with a lifetime up to 1.5 months (about 5,000 cycles) and has lifespan up to 30 times long than PTFE. In the process, shoe mold is subject to extreme high temperature and aggressive environment, placing added demands on materials, including high temperature resistance, high wear and abrasion resistance, easy to clean, easy to remove, easy to recoat, durability and high compressive strength.
With the continuous use temperature of 260oC, the ability to maintain mechanical properties in high temperature performing environment, and other combination of benefits, VICOTE coating can address the challenges facing shoe mold manufacturer. Compared to the traditional mold release agents, VICOTE coating is known to have unique combination of above stated properties.
