HPCL defers plans to build a refinery and petrochemical complex at Vizag

Hindustan Petroleum (HPCL) has put on hold, its plans to build a 300,000 bpd refinery and petrochemical plant at Visakhapatnam; after its two foreign partners- LN Mittal Group and Total, exited the project. Other partners to the project were Oil India and GAIL. The company plans to review the project at a later stage, but for it now, it chooses to focus and complete an 180,000 bpd refinery in Punjab.
