India's MRPL offers 180,000 tons for six month term amid lower projected exports

12-Jan-09
Amid the projected decline in Indian spot naphtha exports for February, Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd. (MRPL) is offering a total of 180,000 tons of naphtha for February-July lifting from New Mangalore port. As a part of the contract, MRPL sold July-December 2008 naphtha to Sempra at US$19.00/ton premium to Middle East quotes on a FOB basis. The strong naphtha demand from within India coupled with the reduction of naphtha cracker runs by Asian petrohem players during December significantly curtailed Indian exports as against figures of November.
