Innovia Films bags supply contract for its wood-pulp based packaging material

25-Feb-09
Innovia Films have bagged a contract to supply its biodegradable and compostable flexible wood-pulp based material, NatureFlex™ to California-based GoodOnYa for packaging its new range of organic nutrition bars produced in the USA. NatureFlex™ films from Innovia are cellulose based, sourced from renewable wood pulp and comply with both European EN13432 and American ASTM D6400 standards for compostable packaging. These films are said to have 95% nature-based content by weight of material. The packaging material to be used for GoodOnYa's product range is made from metallised NatureFlex™ NM laminated to high gloss transparent NatureFlex™ NVS film. NatureFlex™ NM is cellulose-based film having high lustre metallisation for enhanced product impact. It provides excellent moisture barrier for increased shelf life of hygroscopic products and also has a very high gas barrier. Besides been biodegradable and compostable, benefits of NatureFlex™ include anti-static properties, high gloss and transparency, chemical resistance and a number of heat-seal grades.
