Iran has inked preliminary agreements with companies from Russia, Turkey, South Africa, India and Oman to finance domestic petrochemical projects. The country requires US$3.3 bln to build new petrochemical units and complete semi-finished projects by the yearend (March 2010). The projects will comprise of capacities to produce urea, ammonia, polyethylene, olefin, and methanol production units.
