Iran's Assaluyeh-based Jam Petrochemical Complex (JPC) has exported more than 100,000 tons of petrochemicals from March 2007 - March 2008 valued at US$120 mln. National Iranian Petrochemical Company (NIPC) and the retirement and social provision funds each hold 50% in the complex whose olefin unit is one of Iran's largest olefin plants with the final production capacity of 1,320,000 tpa including HDPE, LDPE, BD and PP.
A senior person in the firm cited that nations like China, India, South Korea, the Philippines and Italy are amongst the major markets for the JPC's exports. The raw materials for JPC are sourced from Borzouyeh Petrochemical Complex, Fars Petrochemical Complex and phases of South Pars gas field. However, 10th Olefin plant of JPC aims at a total of 3.3 mln tpa comprising of ethylene, propylene, high density polyethylene, low density polyethylene and other byproducts in Assaluyeh.
