Jamnagar refinery commences operations at full capacity

A diesel hydrotreater that was shut following the fire at the adjacent vacuum gasoil hydrotreater was back in operation and all other units were operating at full capacity. Only the fire-hit desulphurisation unit is out of operation. The accident will not affect the company's financial performance and supply of products. The Jamnagar refinery, which meets almost 20% of the country's LPG demand, claims to have enough stocks to meet the requirement for the next week. However, as a precautionary measure, the government has floated tenders to import LPG. State-run Indian Oil Corp (IOC) has floated a tender for importing five LPG cargoes of 13,000 tons each to meet any likely shortfall in LPG arising from the fire.
