Japan’s naphtha imports rises 32% in July

Japan's naphtha imports for the petrochemical sector rose 32% in July as compared to import figures of June. Imports of naphtha for ethylene production amounted to 1,851,503 kilolitres (1,273,078 tons) last month, compared with 1,399,098 kl (960,823 tons) in June, as per the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. The average naphtha import cost in July rose to US$576.3/ton (37,720 yen/kl) from US$496.8/ton (32,827 yen/kl) in June.
