Korea Kumho subsidiaries plan to invest US$837 mln to expand production lines in Yeosu

In a bid to be meet growing demand from automobiles and consumer electronics, Korea Kumho Petrochemical Co. and its three subsidiaries plan to spend 880 bln won (US$837 mln) to scale their production lines in Yeosu, by 2014. Kumho Petrochemical will expand to 60,000 tpa of S-SBR synthetic rubber. Capacity at Kumho P&B Chemicals will increase to 150,000 tons for bisphenol A, 60,000 tons of ethylene propylene diene terpolymer at Kumho Polychem and 50,000 tons of methylene diphenyl diisocyanate at Kumho Mitsui Chemicals. The companies also plan to build steam generation facilities to supply power at their plants.
