Kuwait Paraxylene Production Company (KPPC) recently announced that its newly planned 822,000 mtpa paraxylene and 370,000 mtpa benzene plants will come on stream by third quarter of 2009. The two highly advanced aromatics plants will be located at Kuwait's Shuaiba Industrial Area and operated by EQUATE Petrochemical company. Kuwait's Petrochemical Industries Company (PIC) has been assigned the charge of handling the US$2 bln Aromatics Project.
