LG DOW Polycarbonate Ltd. (LG-DOW), a 50:50 joint venture between The Dow Chemical Co. and LG Chem Ltd. plans to shut its plant at Yeosu, Korea, for about two weeks later this month. This shutdown has been planned in conjunction with a planned shutdown at Hanwha Petrochemical. Hanwha is the chlorine supplier to LG-DOW, and the two companies are collaborating in the shutdown schedule.
LG-DOW has taken appropriate measures, like building up of extra inventory to ensure customer needs are met during the shutdown period.
