Lotte Daesan and Honam merger initiated in June to be complete in Jan 09

13-Nov-08
South Korean petrochemical majors Honam Petrochemical and Lotte Daesan Petrochemical will conclude proceedings on a complete merger by January 2, 2009. This process was initiated earlier this year, with a partial merger in June that combined sales, marketing and purchasing divisions of the two. Korea's Lotte Group has a 57% share in Honam, while Lotte Daesan is wholly owned by Honam. Their major products - olefins, polyolefins and aromatics are complementary but their manufacturing facilities are at different locations.
