Lotte Daesan is set to merge with Honam Petrochemical Corp. Lotte Daesan owns a 1 mln tpa naphtha cracker, currently operating at 100% run rate, and Honam operates a 750,000 tpa cracker that is currently running at around 90% capacity. Following the merger, the new entity is set to become South Korea's second-largest ethylene operator, following Yeochun NCC which has three crackers with a total nameplate capacity of 1.8 million tpa.
