Russia’s oil and gas giant Lukoil Group is considering long-term plans to construct a US$5 bln petrochemicals complex, including a polyolefin unit in Russia's Stavropol region. Planned to be initiated in 2010, the project is designed to include a 600,000 tpa polypropylene production unit as well as a gas processing plant and a power generation unit providing electricity. Stat up of the polypropylene plant, to be sited in Budyennovsk, has been planned for 2014.
