Russia’s Lukoil expects the damaged ethylene unit at its Stavrolen petrochemical plant in the south of the country to restart by April 1. The plant has been shut since mid-December by a fire that caused damages to the tune of US$25 mln. Concurrently, the Russian major also plans to carry out a 45 day maintenance, originally scheduled for April.
Production capacity at the site includes 350,000 tpa of ethylene and 120,000 tpa of polypropylene.
