Lukoil's Stavrolen mulls April restart for ethylene unit

Russia’s Lukoil expects the damaged ethylene unit at its Stavrolen petrochemical plant in the south of the country to restart by April 1. The plant has been shut since mid-December by a fire that caused damages to the tune of US$25 mln. Concurrently, the Russian major also plans to carry out a 45 day maintenance, originally scheduled for April. Production capacity at the site includes 350,000 tpa of ethylene and 120,000 tpa of polypropylene.
