Netherlands-based chemical group LyondellBasell has announced that it is planning to build the world's largest propylene oxide (PO) and tertiary butyl alcohol (TBA) plant in Houston, Texas, US. The new plant is expected to produce one billion pounds of propylene oxide and two billion pounds of tertiary butyl alcohol per year. It is a part of the company's expansion plan to be carried out in US gulf coast region over the next five years. The entire expansion plan is estimated to have an investment of around US$3-4 bln.
