LyondellBasell Industries has decided to close its 560 mln lbs polypropylene plant in Terni, Italy. LyondellBasell, the world’s number one maker of PP, has been operating in bankruptcy since early 2009. A deterioration in demand as a result of the global economic recession has rendered the facility Terni economically unviable. The exact time of plant closure, that will affect 120 jobs, will be based on discussions with trade unions.
