Union Petroleum and Natural Gas ministry has given sanction for laying petrochemical pipeline along the proposed 700 kilometers long Nagpur-Mumbai Communication Superexpressway known as ‘Prosperity Corridor’ (Samruddhi Mahamarg) for transportation of diesel, petrol and natural gas. Union Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas (Independent Charge) Dharmendra Pradhan made the announcement on Friday during a grand function of distribution of LPG connections to beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) at Kasturchand Park.
The announcement by Pradhan has opened up new opportunities of Industrialisation in Vidarbha and Marathwada regions. “The ministry has sanctioned two petrochemical pipelines which will criss-cross Nagpur. One will be laid from Mumbai along with proposed Prosperity Corridor and other will connect Orissa (1500 km long),” informed Pradhan while addressing huge gathering of women.
