Saudi Kayan plans to start operations at its 260,000 tpa polycarbonate plant at Jubail, Saudi Arabia, at the end of March, as per Platts. The startup will indicate that the company's phenolics complex is fully operational. Saudi Kayan's phenolics complex has a design capacity of 245,000 tpa of phenol and 140,000 tpa of acetone. The company began exporting acetone in the H1-January 2011, and started operations at its 270,000 tpa bisphenol-A plant in first week of March.
