Naphtha crack in Asia slipped from a near 3-1/2 month high to reach a three-session low of US$146.5/ton on Friday, still about 6% higher than a month ago thanks to continuing healthy demand, as per Reuters.
News of Algeria delaying more than 250,000 tons of naphtha for June arrival in Asia by up to 10 days was being digested slowly, with some traders looking past that because most of the volumes will still arrive before the end of June. Consistently low Indian export volumes because of refinery maintenance could keep spot premiums firm, given healthy North Asian demand for the light fuel despite Japan's continuing cracker maintenance season.
