New acrylic impact modifier to offer cost, performance benefits to PVC market

11-Feb-09
Emphasizing its commitment to the PVC market, Arkema Inc.'s PVC Additives Group has recently introduced Durastrength® 619 acrylic impact modifier to the PVC Market. The company claims that the new acrylic impact modifier offers efficiency advantages over existing acrylic modifiers and chlorinated polyethylene (CPE), allowing processors to lower their overall formulation costs. The company manufactures Durastrength® 619 impact modifiers along with other Durastrength impact modifiers, and Plastistrength® process aids at its Axis-based site in Alabama. "With the current downturn in the economy, we feel it's more important than ever to invest in new product development and provide a foundation to support the PVC market for years to come," said Jim McAliney, General Manager, PVC Additives.
