Phase-1 of the integrated PET complex of Oman-based Octal Petrochemicals has been commenced at the Salalah Free Zone following an inauguration by a senior government official. The facility commenced at the complex currently manufactures PET sheet for consumer packaging. However, an adjacent PET sheet and PET resins plant is scheduled to begin operations in October. As per senior official with Octal, the firm endeavours to join hands with the government, investors and business and has expressed confidence that Salalah Free Zone will be an active hotbed for export oriented manufacturing facilities.
