Oil prices cool as weather warms up in USA

Oil prices slipped on warmer than usual winter weather in the United States and expectations of an agreement between Russia and Belarus over natural gas prices. Trading was subdued because the New York Mercantile Exchange closed its trading floor in observance of the national day of mourning for former U.S. President Gerald Ford. In early afternoon electronic trading, light sweet crude for February delivery on the Nymex fell to US$60.86 a barrel and February Brent at London's ICE Futures exchange dropped to US$60.69 a barrel.
