High-performance thermoplastic polymers producer Arkema and French leading tennis rackets manufacturer Babolat have worked together to design the grommet systems of the new XS line of tennis rackets. Babolat Xtra Sweetspot Technology employs Pebax® elastomer to enhance lightness, comfort and tolerance of the game. Babolat opted to chosen to work with Arkema Sports Team to design the new Xtra Sweetspot Technology components due to the superior energy absorption of Pebax® which offers dampening properties of the racket and enhance comfort of the player. The Pebax® is 20% lighter than TPU and its "Trampoline effect" increases the contact time between the ball and the strings for maximum tolerance. Also, the elastomer has high impact resistance which guarantees reliability of rackets in diverse weather conditions.
