PolyOne Expands Service In Europe

PolyOne has recently installed a double-layer blow molding machine at their site in Cergy, France. With the installation of this new blow molding equipment, PolyOne expands beyond a simple color match to provide a full service to packaging designers and converters. The new multilayer machines installed in Cergy can co-extrude polyethylene and polypropylene. Co-extrusion which is widely used by packaging producers giving them the possibility to keep costs down by keeping the special effects and special pigments in the outer layer, and using recyclate in the inner layer. This new machine can help customers to maximize cost-efficiency, through a careful understanding of the process, enabling the optimum percentage of masterbatch in the outer layer to be determined. Additionally, the double-layered machine can use different combinations of raw materials, allowing PolyOne to mimic the customers' exact process. Here, under real conditions, double-layer bottles can be produced with the customers' resin and processing conditions. By simulating the customers' process conditions, PolyOne's blow molding equipment can eliminate the need for traditional production line trials at the customer, allowing the color matching process to be accurately completed faster. This prototype processing equipment increases PolyOne's competence and service, ranging from color match to finished product. Customers can also benefit from an on-site color match at the site close to Paris - Cergy. With this machine, packaging designers can now evaluate color and special effects in three-dimensional bottles instead of flat injection-molded plaques. Color and layer structure changes are quick and easy, allowing PolyOne to show customers a range of wall thickness and color combinations within hours. This new machine expands on PolyOne's worldwide offering to the packaging industry. As a reminder, the existing range of machines includes: · Stretch blow molding machines installed at the sites in Hungary and Belgium, giving the possibility to injection mold preforms, and blow molded PET bottles. · A mono layer blow molding machine installed in Belgium. · A double layer blow molding machine in Bangkok, Thailand, and in Shanghai, China.
