PolyOne has added a new stretch blow molding machine to their color laboratory in Assesse, Belgium. This machine enhances the company's already vast experience and technical capabilities for the PET industry. In recent years PET has seen a growing demand in various beverage markets including water, carbonated soft drink, and beer. An increased importance has been attributed to the packaging of these products, and is now seen as a key differentiating tool. This has put a greater demand on designers and manufacturers to constantly develop new creative packaging with eye-catching colors. With this new equipment, PolyOne now has the ability to produce PET preforms and bottles in-house to allow the company to meet the increasing demand for new product design, rapid colour response, and enhanced speed-to-market for dynamic product introductions. PolyOne can now provide customers with fast, accurate results in colour matching without having to interrupt the customers' own production, because the new blow molding equipment eliminates the need for traditional line trials. Other advantages for customers include: · The machines help customers develop colors for brand recognition, and examine colors and special effects on a three-dimensional object such as a bottle, instead of a flat color plaque. This can lead to a reduction in approval times as customers can inspect the final product in prototype form. · In addition to their color matching capabilities, these machines are used for new product development, product compatibility testing, resin testing, troubleshooting and field testing support. PolyOne are committed to providing these customers with a range of color and additive concentrates, as well as a comprehensive technical service, including customized formulations and color plaques.
