SABIC has recently announced a polypropylene product development breakthrough by introducing SABIC® PP FPC55 into the European Packaging market during the AMI Thin Wall Packaging 2008 event in Cologne from 28th till 30th October. The new innovative grade is developed to satisfy specific needs of today's injection moulding market, requiring improved conversion efficiency and value for money. The new SABIC® PP FPC55 offers faster moulding cycles with excellent flow behaviour and an exceptional balance of impact and stiffness, allowing for thinner wall options. This significantly improves the conversion economics for the manufacturers in the packaging industry which is otherwise characterised by cost pressure due to rising energy prices and a low demand in a mature market.
SABIC® PP FPC55 brings highest value on high speed equipment and incorporates an additive package that improves performance considerably. The increased crystallization speed enables short cooling times, which results in a more efficient conversion. This new grade is of special interest to the Thin Wall Packaging, Pails and Containers, Caps and Closures markets, where excellent flow and reduced cycle time are essential.
