Rising costs of feedstock propylene amid unwavering buying sentiments have been witnessed in China’s polypropylene markets this week. Higher prices are beginning to catch up in Southeast Asia's PP market, on an attempt by sellers to prop up prices despite feeble buying. Buyer’s interest in SE Asia has been lackluster on the year-end bookkeeping and the impending implementation of regional free trade agreements in early 2010. The imminent FTAs are expected to reduce the import tariffs in countries like Thailand and Malaysia.
