Preliminary plans by CNOOC to build petrochem plants and offshore facilities in Fujian

China National Offshore Oil Corp (CNOOC) has outlined preliminary plans to build petrochemical plants and offshore engineering facilities in Fujian province, in a move to aggressively expand into refining and petrochemical business. CNOOC is exploring establishing a large petrochemical base and commercial reserves of both crude and petroleum products in Ningde, Fujian province.
Among CNOOC’s existing facilities are a liquefied natural gas terminal in Fujian and an 800,000 tpa ethylene complex in southern Guangdong province.
