Qatar Petroleum International to acquire stake in Royal Dutch Shell’s JV in Singapore

State-owned Qatar Petroleum International is to acquire a stake in Royal Dutch Shell PLC's chemical joint ventures in Singapore. Other details have not been disclosed. Shell Eastern Petroleum operates a 500,000 bpd refinery at Pulau Bukom and is in the process of building a petrochemical complex comprising an 800,000 tpa steam cracker and two downstream units. Shell jointly operates Petrochemical Corporation of Singapore with a Japanese consortium led by Sumitomo Chemicals.
