Repsol has restarted its 450,000 tpa propylene oxide-styrene monomer (PO-SM) facility at Tarragona, Spain as per Platts. The unit had a 50 day planned shutdown and is expected to commence startup procedures on May 30-31, on target. The shutdown also affected other units at the Tarragona site, which included a 140,000 tpa high density polyethylene unit and the glycols, polyols plants, as well as a water treatment unit. The styrene unit has been the last one to start up.
