Rominserv, part of the Rompetrol Group, will provide project management consultancy services and training for the construction of an ample petrochemical complex in Kazakhstan, an investment exceeding US$6 bln. The complex is located in Atyrau, near KazMunayGas Refinery (installed processing capacity – 5.5 mln tons) and Tengiz, Karachaganak and Kashagan oilfields. The new investment targets the creation of an important petrochemical center in the Western part of Kazakhstan. The project will be developed in stages and at the end the production capacity will reach 800,000 tons of ethylene (raw material for manufacturing of polymers) and 500,000 tons of polypropylene. Rominserv specialists will offer consultancy within the framework of a 5 million USD contract during this year, in the first phase of the project for the construction of the unit of propane dehydrogenation and production of polypropylene, the general contractor of the project being the Chinese company Sinopec Engineering.
