SABIC has recently added a new High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) grade and two new Polypropylene (PP) grades for Injection Moulding to its product portfolio aimed at increasing the applications area and improving the conversion economics. SABIC® HDPE M80060CC is the newcomer within the SABIC® HDPE portfolio for Injection Moulding. As per a release, SABIC® HDPE M80060CC was designed for cartridge applications such as sealant and silicones. However, due to the superior stiffness impact and environmental stress crack resistance balance SABIC® HDPE M80060CC can perfectly be used within caps and closures applications and food packaging.
The SABIC® PP portfolio for Injection Moulding is extended with the random copolymer SABIC® PP 670KH and the homopolymer SABIC® PP 578L. The company says these two PP grades polymers are suited for applications requiring outstanding hinge performance and ease of opening such as caps and closures. "In the near future the SABIC® PP portfolio for Injection Moulding will expand even further. We're developing new homo-, random and impact copolymer grades within the SABIC® PP Flowpact range that will help our customers to maximise their output and save energy as well as to meet the increasing demand for improved transparency" said René Nieuwhof, Technical Marketing Engineer at SABIC.
