Royal Dutch Shell is expected to shut its 800,000 tpa ethylene cracker in Pulau Bukom for about two-three months for maintenance and expansion works in Q4-2014, trade sources were quoted in Reuters. “We do not comment on operational matters,” said a Shell spokeswoman when contacted by Reuters.
Shell had, in November 2012, announced plans to debottleneck the Singapore cracker and raise capacity by over 20%, but had not specified the exact shutdown time.
