The sole petrochemicals plant in Kyushu, Japan's third largest main island, Showa Denko K.K. seems to be normal after Typhoon Nabi. The 565,000 tpa naphtha cracker at the Oita plant in Kyushu, southern Japan, is operating normally after a powerful typhoon passed through the area. Typhoon Nabi paled into a tropical storm and headed into the Sea of Japan on Wednesday after drenching parts of Kyushu with more than 1,000 mm (40 inches) of rain, triggering floods and landslides.
