Plastik JSC, a subsidiary of SIBUR (Russia) and the only ABS manufacturer in Russia, has accomplished up-grade of the plant for the ABS/PC composite material production.
As a result, the company has announced manufacturing ABS/PC compounds corresponding to the world's best analogues. The designed capacity of the plant, amounting to 7.5 thousand tons per year, allows full satisfaction of domestic demand for ABS/PC. Until now, Russia imported about 70% of this kind of compounds.
The produced acrylonitrile butadiene styrene/polycarbonate (ABS/PC) compound of injection molding and extrusion grades is used for manufacture of details for interior and exterior finishing mainly in automobile and railway-car building as well as in production of mass consumer commodities. The upgradation of the plant took place in in 2008-2009 in close cooperation with the world leaders in this field, the press statement said. Lab tests conducted on modern equipment showed full compliance with the testing methods applied by the world's leading companies for ABS/PC compounds testing. The results of the lab tests have confirmed the highest quality of the manufactured products.
