Egypt’s Sidi Kerir Petrochemicals Co (Sidpec) has deferred commercial production and full capacity after restart of its high density polyethylene (HDPE) blow-moulding production line. The delay in commercial production until end of the month has been triggered by difficulties with the restart. The production line at the 150,000 tpa facility at Ameriya, Egypt, was shuttered for a 6-7 week scheduled maintenance on 16 July.
