Sinopec Maoming plans to shutter its petrochemical complex at Maoming for a month long maintenance shutdown in October, bringing forward the date from August. This will be in tandem with the shutdown of its upstream 3 mln tpa crude distillation unit and 900,000 tpa FCC at the 13.5 mln tpa Maoming refinery.
The refiner will first idle its 380,000 tpa No. 1 naphtha-fed steam cracker and accompanying downstream units, followed by its 620,000 tpa No. 2 steam cracker
