SK Engineering to build petrochemical plants in Kuwait

SK Engineering & Construction - a promising bidder for the PIC Aromatic project, has bagged a US$1.22 billion petrochem contract in Kuwait. This is the largest ever contract won by a Korean builder. SK Engineering & Construction won the tender to upgrade facilities for Kuwait Oil Co (KOC). It will build additional 10 facilities and a gas booster station, and move underground pipelines above ground at oil fields southeast of Kuwait City. The Korean company plans to complete this project by July 2007. Once is the construction will be completed the Gulf country will be able to earn over US$8 billion a year. This will be possible as an additional 430,000 barrels of crude will be produced per day.
