Songwon Industrial Co., Ltd. has announced it has completed the capacity expansion of its OPS (One Pack Systems) production facility in Greiz, Germany. The capacity expansion project was completed on time, and doubles the current production capacity of Songnox® OPS products from 7,000 metric tons to 14,000 metric tons.
The Greiz OPS operation has produced dust free polymer additive products since 2006, and with the capacity increase the facility is now one of Europe’s largest manufacturing sites of OPS products for the polymer industry. Songwon’s OPS products, which are sold under the Songnox® OPS brand, combine several additives into an integrated dust free, pellet form and offer a number of key advantages such as uniformity and certified composition. “The market for OPS products has been enjoying consistent growth as compounders and polymer producers continuously search for added value and more efficient production technology. This additional production capacity will strengthen Songwons’ position as one of the leading producers of OPS products in Europe and ensures that we have enough capacity to meet the long-term demand of our growing markets," said Maurizio Butti, Chief Operating Officer and Member of the Songwon Industrial Group Executive Committee.
Doug Excell, Vice President of Business Management for OPS products added: “The Greiz capacity expansion is part of our overall OPS initiative to expand our global presence and leverage our superior technologies worldwide.”
