The upward trend in spot ethylene prices in USA continued amid tight supplies and strengthening feedstock ethane, as per Platts. Spot ethane continued to climb, trading as high as 66 cents/gallon as, spot ethane values gain, rising by over 10 cents/gallon on strong demand, since the beginning of October.
Market is expected to improve shortly with the scheduled restart of Sasol’s 920 mln lbs/year steam cracker at Lake Charles, Louisiana on November 10.
