State Govt plans 'Petrochemical Park’ next to the BPCL refinery in Kochi

Kerala State Government is planning a ‘Petrochemical Park’ next to the BPCL refinery in Kochi to tap the potential of downstream industries in the petrochemical sector, Governor P Sathasivam announced. The park will use feedstock from BPCL which is set to enhance its refining capacity. “The expansion of the refining capacity of BPCL-KRL from 9.5 mln metric tpa to 15.5 mln tpa will be completed during 2016 which will result in production of 5,00,000 tpa propylene.
