The Government of Maharashtra, under the aegis of Industries Ministry, has signed two Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) - one with Supreme Petrochem Ltd. (SPL) and the other with Supreme Industries Ltd (SIL)
The MOU with Supreme Petrochem is for its Rs 1115 crore, proposed additional capital expenditure program to build a world-class styrenics complex at village Amdoshi and a minor Port at village Dherand, both in district Raigad. With the additional investment, SPL will be One-Stop-Shop for the entire chain of styrenic polymers and alloys of polymers. The Minor Port will address the logistic costs and permits movement of materials away from urban areas. The total investment envisaged will be invested by the year 2013.
The MOU with Supreme Industries Ltd. (SIL) is for Rs 300 crore investment for a unit to process over 150,000 tpa of plastics at village Gadegaon in Dist. Jalgaon. This will be the largest single site plastics processing plant in the country. These projects will generate direct and indirect employment for over 2000 persons. SPL & SIL are also considering tie-up with local ITI units to train local youth in technical skills.
