Switzerland-based polyurethane foam manufacturer, FoamPartner Otto Bock has recently established its wholly owned Asian manufacturing base in Changzhou National Hi-Tech District, China. The newly established FoamPartner Bock (Changzhou) Ltd was set up with a total investment of US$27.5 mln and houses facilities for manufacturing polyurethane foam, which is mainly used in vehicle interiors and as sound insulation sponges. Swiss FoamPartner Bock was jointly set up by Swiss FoamPartner Group and German foam manufacturer Otto Bock Schaumstoffe GmbH in Zurich, Switzerland in 2005.
Changzhou National Hi-Tech District has attracted investments of many automobile accessory companies, such as French Montupet, Mavgna International (power assembly), Visteon (auto lighting), Bridgestone's (shock absorbers), Leoni's (auto wiring), and Mitsubishi Electric (auto electric motors, generators, distributor caps), Swiss Georg Fischer, GF AgieCharmilles, Rieter and HOERBIGER. FoamPartner Bock expects that the Yangtze River Delta to maintain a healthy and steady growth even though the financial turmoil over the past several months has a negative impact on the confidence of businesses.
